At 26 he is trapped in a second-rate existence – stuck with a fragile, alcoholic wife, a house full of overflowing ashtrays and discarded glasses, a young son and a futile job. The Reckoning by John Grisham

Amazon.com: The Reckoning: A Novel (9780385544153): Grisham, John ...

A Sunday Times best seller, John Grisham returns to Clanton to tell the story of an unthinkable murder, the bizarre trial that followed it, and its profound and lasting effect on the people of Ford County.

Pete Banning was Clanton’s favourite son, then one October morning he rose early, drove into town, walked into the church, and calmly shot and killed the Reverend Dexter Bell.

As if the murder wasn’t shocking enough, it was even more baffling that Pete’s only statement about it – to the sheriff, to his defence attorney, to the judge, to his family and friends, and to the people of Clanton – was ‘I have nothing to say’.

Investigating the theft of a priceless Rembrandt painting from the Fitzmolean Museum, he meets Beth Rainsford, a research assistant at the gallery who he falls hopelessly in love with, even as Beth guards a secret of her own that she’s terrified will come to light.

Good day! Writing an essay has consistently been a source of dread for me. I struggled to articulate my thoughts and convey my intended message. Then, while browsing the internet, I came across research proposal writing service , prompting me to explore additional support. The guidance I received was invaluable, and I received my completed assignment promptly. I’m pleased that I didn’t have to endure days of essay writing, thereby liberating myself from this burden.
