The London Beer Week guide

It’s a matter of pub-lic interest…     
It’s what you’ve finally been waiting for – a proper excuse for a pint for every day and night of the week.
Running from 16-22 February, London Beer Week will be celebrated at over 100 bars, pubs and restaurants so you can sample the best new beers all week long.
The event also includes sampling, pop-ups, food pairing and roaming beer vans. Sounds pretty damn good, right? Here’s the rundown of the best events…

MONDAY

Craft Beer Rising Carnaby Hub

This pop up bar just off London’s infamous Carnaby Street is the place to start LBW because it’s where you can sip your first pint and pick up your £10 wristband. This special wristband entitles you to discount beers and offers across the capital including free beers when you dine at Burger & Lobster and 20% off purchases at Camden Town Brewery and that’s just the beginning. This Craft Beer Rising pop up will house hard-to-find beers and popular brands on tap, so you can ease into your week of drinking.

TUESDAY 

Beer Pancake Night

Er, what better way to spend Shrove Tuesday than with beer pancakes? Pop down to Translate bar on Kingsland Road for Hiver honey beer-based pancakes and Hiver Beer hoptails. It’s the ultimate way to spend Pancake Day. Flippin’ marvellous!

Beer and BBQ

THURSDAY 

The German Beer Journey

Germany comes to England, or more specifically Fulham, for a night of German beer history. With beers from every region, you’ll be taught how to identify the many different qualities on offer and taste at least eight types. Es ist ein beer education.

FRIDAY

Sharp’s Secret Bar Ultimate Taste Experience

Shhh! This top secret bar is hidden somewhere at Sharp’s East London hub, find it and you’re in for an incredible 30 minute sensory experience. Sharp’s Beer Sommelier will compliment some of the finest beer and food, but only for a few lucky people. Bookings can only be made between 9am-3pm on the day you want to visit and it’s first come first served.

SATURDAY 

Get Into Orbit!

Orbit Brewery, Arch 228, Fielding Street, SE17 3HD

Orbit Beer fans will already know that they are the creators of Kolsch and Altbier but this is your chance to get involved. Orbit’s Head Brewer Mario will hold a tasting for a small selection of people and the Tap Room will be open all day for you to stay and drink on.

SUNDAY  

Brewing Experience Day

After a week of drinking, it’s time to get hands-on. The chairman of London Amateur Brewers will give you a masterclass in brewing and you’ll get the chance to get stuck into the action under his expert guidance – the perfect day out for beer lovers! The ticket price also includes breakfast, lunch and beer samples. Bargain alert!
