Rugby League | Super League week 20 | Preview and Odds

With the 2018 Super League season approaching its climax, every match is crucial as clubs jockey for position.

Here are some of our tipster’s best rugby league odds ahead of the fixtures.

Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves

Second plays third in this titanic battle between two of the most exciting attacking teams in the league. Warrington put 30 on Salford last week, whilst Wigan thumped the downward spiralling Leeds Rhinos 46-8.

Home advantage will be important for Wigan, who have a mammoth +238 point difference. Although Warrington have some very good players, I think Wigan will be too strong for them, and will have a statement win. Wigan with a -4.5 handicap looks good value at 5/6.

Wakefield Trinity vs Catalans Dragons

Wakefield almost pulled off an exceptional result last week, conceding late to lose 34-30 at St Helens, but are showing signs that they could cause some damage in the Super 8 stage.

Catalans did themselves a huge favour in their quest to be assured of the Super 8s, by dismantling a good Castleford side 44-16.

Both sides really need a result with only four games remaining until the table splits, with only one point separating Catalans from the Super 8s or the Qualifiers. Despite having to travel to Wakefield, I think Catalans Dragons could nick a result, and are very easy to back at 11/8.

Hull Kingston Rovers vs Salford Red Devils

Both Hull KR and Salford Red Devils really need to start accumulating points quickly, or the Qualifiers will beckon. Hull KR had a really good win against the Huddersfield Giants last weekend, whereas Salford have lost seven of their last eight.

Both teams should be safe if they find themselves in the Qualifiers, as Widnes are clearly a worse team, but when approaching the table split it is vital to gather winning momentum. I think Salford will continue their extremely poor form, and I like Hull KR with a -4 handicap at 5/6.
