O’Hara’s Hunch: Premier League Gameweek 23 Preview

Grosvenor Sport ambassador Jamie O’Hara breaks down three must-watch matchups in the Premier League this weekend.

Manchester City vs Chelsea – Saturday 17:30

Manchester City look back in business in the league and I think they will squeeze into the top four now. They’ve made some good signings in January and tied Erling Haaland down to a long-term contract. Their Premier League defence is finished, but you know what they’re like when they go on a run!

Chelsea started the season brilliantly and exceeded expectations. Enzo Maresca has come in and done a great job with a young squad, which is now playing decent football. I think he’s still learning on the job as well as the players, who can build towards being a title-winning side. They don’t want to slip down the table anymore, but inconsistency is to be expected from a young squad.

I think City nick this – their league form looks to have picked up and I think they will have too much for Chelsea, who need to stop conceding so many goals.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea (7/1)

Tottenham vs Leicester – Sunday 14:00

There is a problem at Tottenham that needs fixing. Postecoglou probably does deserve the sack because we’re witnessing undoubtedly horrendous football and the results aren’t good enough, but where does it get Spurs by sacking him? The mentality at the club needs to completely change, whether it be Daniel Levy stepping down or something similar.

It’s not been a great start at Leicester for Ruud van Nistelrooy – I look at that appointment and think whether it was the correct type of appointment for Leicester at that time. They needed a manager with that experience of getting clubs out of trouble, someone that can quickly get the players onside and they went for someone who oversaw Manchester United for five games and looked alright. It’s looking like the wrong decision for the Foxes.

It’s a must win for Tottenham here, they can’t afford to lose. I don’t think it’ll be pretty, but I think they will get the job done.

Prediction: Tottenham 3-1 Leicester (8/1)

Fulham vs Manchester United – Sunday 19:00

Fulham have a great chance of achieving European football this season – Marco Silva is a brilliant manager and he’s doing a great job. He’s put a real solid side together, loads of quality and they’re defensively sound. They’ve got players like Tom Cairney off the bench who can affect a game and they’re a top team. I’d take Marco Silva at Tottenham; he definitely deserves that type of chance.

Manchester United are absolutely terrible – they’re one of the worst teams in the Premier League at the moment. They’re awful at the back and their midfield is non-existent. Their options in attack are terrible as well – Amad Diallo is the only player who looks like he deserves to play for them. Joshua Zirkzee is one of the worst players I’ve ever seen in a Manchester United shirt – it’s unbelievable that he’s playing for them. He’s an absolute imposter!

I think Fulham win this game comfortably, I can see it finishing 2-0. This is one of the worst United sides I’ve ever seen, they are that bad!

Prediction: Fulham 2-0 Manchester United (10/1)
