O’Hara’s Hunch: Gameweek 27 Premier League Preview

Some incredible results in last week’s fixtures set up an intriguing weekend in the Premier League.

Grosvenor Sport ambassador Jamie O’Hara previews Bournemouth’s clash with Liverpool, Nottingham Forest’s visit to Tottenham and Crystal Palace’s meeting with Manchester City in a vital Matchweek 27.

Bournemouth v Liverpool, Saturday 12:30 GMT

Score prediction: Bournemouth 1 – 3 Liverpool 8/1

Anytime goalscorer: Mohamed Salah 11/10

Unbelievable from Liverpool, their turnaround in fortunes in the Premier League, they looked dead and buried but top four is back on. It was a sensational performance against Manchester United; it was vintage Liverpool.

They have that in the locker, we know they do, and I think Bournemouth are going to be on the back end of a hiding as well. Bournemouth aren’t a bad side for 80 minutes and then they just fold, the amount of goals they give away in the last minutes of game is why they are going to go down really. Gary O’Neil has it all to do but I think Liverpool are going to run riot, they have the bit between their teeth now and they see the top four is a possibility. They see Tottenham not playing well and they’ll see Newcastle have dropped off. They’ll smell blood and probably come after Bournemouth and win this game comfortably.

Anfield is a horrible place to try and get a result, the crowd are on you and the Liverpool players are always up for it because its Anfield. Liverpool are favourites for fourth now which is crazy when you talk about Newcastle and Tottenham, and Liverpool haven’t even been in the question. But they always find a way of getting it done. They have bad seasons, and they still claw their way back in. They must be favourites to get top four now.

I predict a Liverpool win, probably over 2.5 goals. All of a sudden, they are starting to find the net and Bournemouth can’t defend. They might nick a goal; they are good from set pieces, but they concede goals for fun. Liverpool to win 3-1, that would be where I put money. Mohamed Salah to score, I think Liverpool carry on with this form and Bournemouth are bang in trouble, I think they go down this season.

Tottenham v Nottingham Forest, Saturday 15:00 GMT

Score prediction: Tottenham 2 – 0 Nottingham Forest 5/1

Anytime goalscorer: Harry Kane 10/11

I don’t know who wins this game, it’s so hard to know which Tottenham will turn up. I’m sick to death of watching Spurs and getting disappointed. They are painful to watch, I’m going to watch the game at the weekend because I love Tottenham, but I guarantee you I will be disappointed. Nothing is going to change, we are going to play 3-4-3, I will be bored out of my nut.

Spurs might win the game because Nottingham Forest’s away form is absolutely woeful, their away form is shocking, but what does that do, does it paint over cracks? I’m not excited to watch Tottenham, I don’t really care at the moment and that is bad because I love Tottenham. I’m just not interested.

I’m going to go 2-0 Tottenham, maybe 3-0. Harry Kane will score as usual, and they will win the game because Forest never win away from home. The only reason they are surviving is because of their home form. Away from home there is no point in them turning up, so Spurs will win the game, but they will make it hard for themselves. If they don’t win, the fans are going to go Potty.

Crystal Palace v Manchester City, Saturday 17:30 GMT

Score prediction: Crystal Palace 1 – 2 Manchester City 8/1

Anytime goalscorer: Jack Grealish 13/2

They are a good Premier League side that shouldn’t get relegated. Do I see Patrick Vieira progressing? No, probably not. They will be safe this season, they’ll finish 12th or 13th. For me, that is Crystal Palace, that’s where they have always been. You look at the wage budget of the club, that’s where it is, they are around midtable. They have some really good players, Wilfried Zaha and Eberechi Eze are the ones that stand out for me. They will be fine, they won’t go down. It hasn’t been a great season, it’s just been a good season. They are in the Premier League and that’s what matters.

These games are never walkovers; Palace is a hard place to go, the fans are going to be rocking, they are going to want to get into a Manchester City who haven’t always been convincing. It’s a tight space and City like space to play in and for Erling Haaland to get in behind to cause problems. This is not an easy game; it’s a must-win game as well.

I’m going to back Man City to win because I backed them to win the league, so they have to win these games. I think it’s going to be tight but I’m going to go 2-1 to Man City. I think Jack Grealish will score, he’s been playing well recently and I think he’s added a little bit more to his game. It’s a tight pitch and he is going to make something happen. A big win for City. A late winner in a tight contest, Man City know that they need to win the game and I think they will break Crystal Palace hearts at the death.
