Million Pound Picks midweek special, anyone? We thought as much. After a weekend off for the FA Cup, Grosvenor Sport are back with your free shot at winning £1M. It’s the best Premier League prediction game around – and it’s ready and waiting for you.
Nine Premier League games and one from the Championship make up your Million Pound Picks fixtures across Tuesday and Wednesday. All you have to do is select 10 first goalscorers – one for each match. The more you get right, the more chance you have of landing the top prize of ONE MILLION POUNDS.
All 10 gets you the jackpot but if no one wins, there is £2,000 up for grabs for the best Million Pounds Picks predictor of the week. A cash prize that MUST be won. And because we’re nice, we’ll throw a £10 Free Bet the way of anyone who gets three correct first goalscorers.
The early birds
Leeds absolutely obliterated Newcastle when these two teams met at Elland Road, winning 5-2 and taking 25 shots at poor Karl Darlow. And since then, Steve Bruce’s Magpies have simply got worse and worse. And worse. It’s two points from the last eight, four losses on the spin, and the fact that this is at St. James’ Park doesn’t change a thing. We expect Leeds to inflict more damage and away day specialist Patrick Bamford is going to get chances. He’s our pick.
In London, Crystal Palace and West Ham do battle. It’s just one victory in eight for the Eagles, while the Hammers have three on the spin. Michail Antonio has hit winners in back-to-back games and appeals to do so again in this capital clash – especially at 19/4 with Grosvenor Sport.
Midfield maestros
Wednesday night is the business end of Gameweek 20. Six games where you can stake your claim for the big money. It only took four correct predictions in Gameweek 19 to win the £2,000 weekly cash giveaway – so these fixtures could put you within reach.
In a handful of this week’s Million Pound Picks fixtures, we’ve got an eye on attacking midfielders. Phil Foden and James Maddison have been in sensational form in recent weeks and we think they can do the business once more as they continue to stake their Euro 2020 claims.
Foden’s Manchester City are up against West Brom where three points should be a formality – although they were held to a 1-1 draw against the Baggies last time out. Leicester face a trickier task and are without Jamie Vardy, but Maddison has scored in his last four for the flying Foxes and Everton could be next on his hitlist. He’s 17/2 to score first and 16/5 anytime.
Ross Barkley returned from a lengthy injury and turned in an impressive display against Newcastle in midweek. Only Liverpool and Manchester City have a better xG than Aston Villa this season and they should be able to break down a well-marshalled Burnley defence. Grealish, Watkins et al will be queuing up, but we’re taking the man from Merseyside to break the deadlock at Turf Moor.
Wednesday wingmen
Life without Frank Lampard begins for Chelsea at home to Wolves, who haven’t won since beating the Blues before Christmas. But with a point to prove to the incoming Thomas Tuchel, Christian Pulisic is our choice. The American prodigy has only scored once this term but has the talent to unlock any defence. He’s 13/2 in the first goalscorer betting.
And in the Championship, a man who is on fine form is Jamal Lowe. This could be a cracker with in-form Brentford unbeaten in 16 league matches, but second-placed Swansea’s defence is ridiculously good. They’ve conceded just 13 goals in 24 games. If they can take the sting out of the Bees, then Lowe could pounce – he’s got seven goals in his last eight Swansea outings.
Premier League hotshots
Let’s push things forward. Danny Ings, Neal Maupay, Marcus Rashford are our men to wrap up the week. In a repeat of Saturday’s FA Cup tie, Southampton host Arsenal and despite an upturn in recent results for the Gunners, the Saints can prove too strong again. Ings is the man for the job.
Brighton versus Fulham could be entertaining, and the Cottagers sure have the players to pose a threat to the Seagulls. But we’re homing in on the hosts and Maupay is the choice. But… Graham Potter does have a habit of playing approximately zero strikers – so keep an eye on the team news for this one. Don’t forget, you can change each of your Million Pound Picks up to five minutes before kick-off.
Last but not least, Man Utd have the task of hammering another nail into Sheffield United’s firmly fixed Premier League coffin. It could be absolutely anyone here, but Rashford starred against Liverpool in the FA Cup and with confidence sky-high, the Labour leader will no doubt be trying his luck against the Blades. He scored one against Chris Wilder’s men last season, two in the recent reverse fixture, and we’ve got him at 40/1 to go one better and hit an Old Trafford hat-trick.
That’s it from us – just get your picks in by 5:55pm on Tuesday 26th January.
Good luck!
