Million Pound Picks Grosvenor Sport

Gameweek 14 Preview

One last chance for a little Christmas top-up. Well, potentially a pretty big top-up – this is Million Pound Picks after all.

Just in case you don’t know the drill by now, Grosvenor Sport’s Million Pound Picks is where you predict 10 goalscorers to score first in a Premier League gameweek.

If you predict 10 right, you win £1M. If you’re our best guesser, you’ll win the £2,000 cash prize that we give away weekly – and if you get three correct, we’ll dish out a £10 free bet. Lovely.

The best thing is that it’s entirely FREE TO PLAY. Crazy, right? And every week, we bring you our thoughts ahead of the weekend action. Just in case you needed a little inspiration.

And our words of wisdom can be found below…

The big kick-off

Four Saturday games to get us going – starting at Crystal Palace. Liverpool have long since banished the Selhurst Park nightmare of 2014 and we can’t see past them here. Mo Salah is our chosen man to clip the wings of the Eagles.

Southampton can underline their title credentials (just joking… or are we?) with a strong performance against Man City on Saturday. Pep Guardiola’s men couldn’t break down West Brom, but a more open game may suit the Citizens. We’re taking KDB to show his class and sink the Saints.

If you’re interested, the Salah and De Bruyne anytime double pays 19/5 with Grosvenor Sport

Mikel Arteta was much-loved at Goodison Park as a player, but the Arsenal boss could do with breaking a few hearts on his return to Merseyside as the pressure mounts. We can’t see that happening, and we’re Gunner roll with Dominic Calvert-Lewin to strike first for Everton.

Newcastle v Fulham is your Saturday night entertainment, which doesn’t sound great. And probably won’t be great. The Magpies do know how to get things done, as showed with last week’s hard-fought win over WBA, and Callum Wilson is the striker we’re on board with here.

Easy like a Sunday afternoon

Four Sunday games, four straightforward picks? Maybe not. But let’s have a go.

Brighton are next in line to kick Sheffield United while they’re down, and we’re going for their new spot-kick supremo, Pascal Gross. The Swiss midfielder has bagged a couple in recent weeks and you can back him to score first at 8/1. Gross profit. We’ll get our coat…

Spurs v Leicester, where our weekly weigh-up between Son Heung-Min or Harry Kane now includes Foxes hotshot Jamie Vardy. But we’ll take Spurs, and we’ll take Kane. Sorted.

Then it’s a classic rivalry renewed between Man Utd and Leeds, and we can’t wait. No Jermaine Beckford on hand for the Whites here… but the visitors will fancy their chances of another memorable Old Trafford afternoon.

Patrick Bamford loves it on the road with seven of his eight goals coming on his travels, and he’s 13/2 to do the damage here – or you can get the same price on him to score anytime in a Leeds win. Just sayin’.

Another rivalry follows, this time at The Hawthorns. Despite a valiant performance against Man City, a tumultuous week has us leaning towards Villa. Two derby-day away wins in a week would be just the ticket for Dean Smith and his boys – Ezri Konsa is a set-piece threat and we’re plumping for the centre-back at a tantalising 22/1.

Monday night football

We had a feeling Wolves would get the better of Chelsea in midweek, but we didn’t get the goalscorer. We’ll try again – the men from Molineux can carry on where they left off as they travel to Burnley, and we’re going for Daniel Podence this time around.

And can Chelsea bounce back? They’ve lost two in a row and play a West Ham side who have posed a problem to the big guns all season. But will the Hammers find a way to stop Olivier Giroud? We’re going with the French forward to maintain his fine form in front of goal. Fin.

OUR MILLION POUND PICKS

  • Crystal Palace v Liverpool: Mo Salah
  • Southampton v Man City: Kevin de Bruyne
  • Everton v Arsenal: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
  • Newcastle v Fulham: Callum Wilson
  • Brighton v Sheffield Utd: Pascal Gross
  • Tottenham v Leicester City: Harry Kane
  • Man Utd v Leeds Utd: Patrick Bamford
  • West Brom v Aston Villa: Ezri Konsa
  • Burnley v Wolves: Daniel Podence
  • Chelsea v West Ham: Olivier Giroud

So that’s our top 10 for the week. You can take our advice, wisely ignore it or follow the crowd and go with the most-picked players – you’ll find those highlighted in each game section. The power is in your hands.

There’s a lunchtime kick-off which means we need your picks in at 12:25pm on Saturday 19th December. Good luck – go win a million!
