Jamie O’Hara – Euro 2024 Semi Final preview

The Euro 2024 quarter finals have finished and we now have our four semi-finalists. France and Spain face off first on Tuesday – with England and Netherlands next the following day – to try and book their place in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday.

Grosvenor Sport ambassador Jamie O’Hara has his say on this week’s fixtures.

France vs Spain – Tuesday 20:00

I can’t see past Spain here; I think they will go through. For me, they have been the best team of the tournament so far, they’re the only side to look like the winners. They’ve knocked the home nation in Germany out, moved the ball so nicely and they’ve been clinical.

France really haven’t been at the races so far. Kylian Mbappe hasn’t looked at his best this tournament, but of course you can’t write them off. There’s something to be said about getting through games when you’re not at your best and France have done this, much like England.

Spain do need to put them to bed early, as I could see France growing into the tie the longer it goes on. For me though, I think Spain will go through here and knock France out.

Prediction: France 0-1 Spain (3.35/1)

England vs Netherlands – Wednesday 20:00

Netherlands are a good team; they’ve got some star players, and without doubt the best team England will have faced so far. They’re resilient and have showed they can come from behind.

I can see it being an open game, and very end to end. The Switzerland vs England quarter final was two teams cancelling each other out, but I don’t see that here. It’ll be interesting to see how Gareth Southgate sets the team up – could he change to a back four?

I do think England will go through, I’m confident of it. I think we will see an open game, which will allow the likes of Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham to really show what they can do.

Prediction: England 2-1 Netherlands (9/1)
