Harry Skelton is back in racing action this weekend after Wincanton passed a course inspection in time for Saturday’s meeting.
It might be cold outside, but the Grosvenor Sport ambassador is in hot form after landing five graded winners in December. Harry has six rides this Saturday including Protektorat, a short-priced favourite in the Grade 2 Dipper Novices’ Chase at 2.05pm.
“We’ve been very happy with him this season,” said Harry. “He’s two from two over fences and we’re looking forward to running him. It’s great to have Sir Alex Ferguson as the part-owner, along with the Hales family and Ged Mason.”
Sir Alex certainly knew a thing or two about winning, and hopefully the 6-year-old can beat off his two rivals and land the hat-trick for connections.
Harry also picked out his best bet from his other runners, with his chosen selection running in the 1.30. “Of my four outside rides, I would say Take Your Time has the best chance for Paul Nicholls in the Handicap Hurdle,” Harry continued.
“He’s stepping into handicap company for the first time and off a mark of 124, he looks to have a good chance.”
