Harry Skelton: Roksana Preview

Grosvenor Sport Ambassador Harry Skelton has given his thoughts on Roksana ahead of the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot.

On Saturday, Harry takes Grade-1 winning mare Roksana into the Long Walk Hurdle where she goes up against former winners Thistlecrack, Paisley Park and The Worlds End as well as rising stars Thyme Hill and Main Fact.

She scored over three miles on her October comeback at Wetherby, and without the 7lb penalty here that she’s carried over the last two years, should not be underestimated. You can hear Harry’s thoughts on the mare below:

Harry said: “We’ve been very happy with her, she’s been working well and schooling great. We’re very much looking forward to running her.

“She did it well at Wetherby. She won’t mind the soft ground and this year she loses that 7lb penalty she got for winning at the festival and with the mares allowance its bringing her right into play.

“We’re under no illusions how competitive the race is on Saturday, it’s a very very good race but we’re looking forward to running her and she should run well.”
