Harry Skelton | I fully expect Knight In Dubai to run a good race

Grosvenorsport.com ambassador and leading National Hunt jockey Harry Skelton shares his thoughts on the Day 2 of the Grand National Festival at Aintree.

I was set to have a busy day ahead at Aintree this afternoon but we have made the decision to pull out Sofia’s Rock (2.20), Born Survivor (4.05) and Montego Grey (5.15) so I now only have three rides in the seven-race card.

Knight In Dubai – 1.45

I probably made too much use of Knight In Dubai at Cheltenham where he travelled really well and probably over-raced a fraction. I won’t ride him as prominently this time. I still believe there is a decent race to be won with this horse somewhere. I fully expect him to run well.

Mohaayed – 1.45

Bridget rides Mohaayed who is stepping up to two and a half miles. He didn’t run badly at Cheltenham where he wasn’t beaten all that far. It is going to be hard for him off 11st 12lb, but we are hoping the extra distance might bring out a little bit more improvement.

Crucial Role – 2.50

Crucial Role has done well this season, winning twice at Uttoxeter. He ran in the Ultima at Cheltenham and didn’t run too badly. He is stepping back into novice company and has an outside chance.

3.25

No ride for me here, but Politologue likes Aintree as does Min. I wouldn’t have a strong view and this is a race to sit back and enjoy.

Ardlethan – 4.40

Ardlethan has been quite an improver. He won well last time at Uttoxeter. He could run into a place but he is very much a chaser in the making.
