Harry Skelton: Allmankind

Harry Skelton has returned as Grosvenor Sport ambassador ahead of a big day at Sandown on Saturday.

He rides Allmankind, trained by brother Dan, in the Henry VIII Novices’ Chase at 13:50 before switching to Politologue in the 14:25 Tingle Creek Chase where he’ll go up against one of jump racing’s biggest stars in Altior.

Allmankind put in a perfect round of jumping to make a winning debut over fences with a stylish front-running success at Warwick last month and Skelton is confident ahead of the race.

He said: “He was brilliant around Warwick first time and he schooled great this morning”

“We’re really, really happy with him.”

“It’s raining here now and it’s going to be quite soft but we know he handles that and we’re looking forward to Saturday”

Following his ride on Allmankind, he’ll take the reins on Politologue where he’ll aim to steer the Paul Nicholls-trained grey to glory again having won the Champion Chase in March.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back on him.”

“He gave me day ill never forget last year at the festival.”

“Ive sat on him a couple of times, down at Ditcheat and he feels in great form.”

“Paul’s (Nicholls) very happy with him and tHe more rain the better, I’m very excited about Saturday.”

“We’ve got to take on Altior, we didn’t get to take him on last year at the festival but you expect that stiff competition in these grade ones and we’re looking forward to it.”
