Day Three of the GUKPT Manchester Main Event.

So the biggest GUKPT Manchester Main Event for a decade is now in the history books. We were expecting the tournament to be busy, but not this busy! The cardroom has been buzzing throughout the £1k Main Event and it’s been played in great spirits. As we type this up we can hear singing in the cardroom as the side event final table is underway.

Today 14 players made their way back and after 9 hours play we have a new thoroughly deserving champion in Ben Maregedze. He’s off to party with his rail who have been amazing all day!

The turn comes a six, giving Ben the lead in the hand.

The river comes a deuce.

Ben Maregedze is our GUKPT Manchester Main Event Champion! Richard Kellett is the runner up.

Richard Kellett & Ben Maregedze have agreed to chop the money.

Kellett taking home £70,000 and Ben taking £69,470.

They will now play one hand for the trophy.

Rob Bickley 3rd  – 20:40

Rob Bickley three bet shoves over Kelletts open and is snapped off!!

Rob tables A-K of diamonds but has ran into the ACES of Kellett!!

The aces hold for Kellett who takes the pot and now has 3.1million chips and will go into heads up as the chip leader.

Rob heads out in 3rd place for £34,110.

Rob Bickley limps the small blind, Ben moves all in for 1.1million and after some time in the tank Rob makes the call.

Ben tables A-5 against the A-6 of Rob.

The flop comes 10–K–J

Someone on Bens rail asks for the 5 of hearts and gets instant service as it shows up on the turn, giving Ben the lead in the hand.

The river card comes a 9.

Ben takes the pot doubling to 2.2million while Rob is left with 1.2million.

Craig has the best hand tabling A-10 of hearts against the Q-J of Rob.

The flop comes 7–K–J as Rob flops a pair of Jacks, Craig picks up a straight draw.

The turn card comes a deuce.

The river card a 4.

Very unlucky for Craig as he heads out in 4th place for £21,730.

Rob now has 2.8million!

Ben Margedze takes out short stack Ryan Plant.

Ryan has been very unlucky on the final table and exits in 5th place for £14,790.

We get to the table as Mark Rubbathan is all in for his 600k holding A-10 against the A-J of Rob Bickley.

Kellett holding A-K of spades but has ran into the ACES of Rob!

The Aces hold and Rob becomes the new chip leader, doubling up to 1.8million!

Chris Byrne gets his 9 bigs all in holding K-J of hearts against the 6-6 of Kellett.

Chris misses the board and is eliminated in 8th place for £6,940. Not a bad return considering he satellited in for £22.
