The ten levels of Day 1a of GUKPT Blackpool are now firmly in the history books as the chips have all been bagged and tagged. It’s been a surprisingly slow day with 80 entries in total throughout the ten levels of play. That only means one thing, that tomorrow is going to be BUSY!
22 players have made it through and will be back for Saturdays Day 2. Gary Stevesmith leads the way with 170,000, he is closely followed by previous GUKPT Blackpool Champion Tom Middleton who has finished with 151,000 and is second in chips.

Good morning and welcome to Blackpool for Day 1a of the GUKPT Main Event. This week has been extremely busy with the side events and cash games and we expect the Main Event to be the busiest one in years! Maybe the busiest Blackpool Main Event Ever!
Yiannis Liperis won last years Main Event, besting the 304 entry field to take home the first place prize of £84,250. Yiannis has a good record in Blackpool and we’ll hopefully see him here defending his title.
