Grosvenor Goals Predictions: Gameweek 32

The Premier League returned with a bang this past week, much to the delight of sport and football fans around the world.

While it will take teams some time to get used to the new normal of empty stadiums, there was plenty of high quality football to enjoy in Gameweek 31, with Manchester City winning twice in comfortable fashion, Brighton again getting the best of Arsenal and Newcastle putting Sheffield United to the sword, to name just a few of the results.

As we do every week, we’re running Grosvenor Goals in the Premier League this week, where if you can select the first goalscorer correctly in our 10 selected games, you win £1M! Last week, we gave away a guaranteed cash prize of £10,000 to the player who selected the most first goalscorers. The punter who collected that guaranteed prize selected five out of 10 correct, not bad going.

This week, there’s a guaranteed cash prize on offer again to whoever picks the most correct goalscorers, with that person winning £5,000, and of course, if you select any three correctly, you win a £10 free bet. Fancy your chances? Entries close at 5:55PM on Tuesday, June 23rd.

Below are this week’s 10 selected Premier league fixtures for Grosvenor Goals, and we at Grosvenor Sport have made our predictions for the first goalscorer in each of the 10 selected fixtures.

Game 1: Leicester City vs. Brighton

Tuesday, June 23rd, 6PM

First Goalscorer Pick: Jamie Vardy

Leicester could only leave Vicarage Road with a point on weekend and saw their grip on third place loosen as Chelsea’s win put them to just three points back of the Foxes. Jamie Vardy had one or two opportunities to score at Watford but was unable to find the net, but we fancy him to find his 20th goal of the season after getting his first 90 minutes in three months under his belt last week.

Game 2: Tottenham vs. West Ham

Tuesday, June 23rd, 8:15PM

First Goalscorer Pick: Heung-Min Son

Anyone that watched Tottenham play Manchester United last Friday would have seen that Harry Kane looks well off the pace, and understandably so having been out for nearly six months prior to last week’s game. One player in Spurs’ attack who did look up to speed was Heung-Min Son, who has scored against West Ham previously.

Game 3: Norwich vs. Everton

Wednesday, June 24th, 6PM

First Goalscorer Pick: Richarlison

Everton battled for a decent draw against league leaders and bitter rivals Liverpool on Sunday evening, and perhaps had the better of the chances to go on and win that game. They travel to Norwich on Wednesday and we like Richarlison to run the Canaries’ defence ragged en route to opening the scoring.

Game 4: Wolves vs. Bournemouth

Wednesday, June 24th, 6PM

First Goalscorer Pick: Raul Jimenez

You can make a case that no team looked worse on the Premier League’s return weekend than Bournemouth who laboured to a 2-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace. Wolves on the other hand picked up a big win at West Ham, aided by teams around them like Sheffield United, Tottenham and Manchester United all dropping points in the race for European football. Jimenez opened the scoring at West Ham and is a strong contender to do so this week.

Game 5: Newcastle vs. Aston Villa

Wednesday, June 24th, 6PM

First Goalscorer Pick: Joelinton

Newcastle were helped hugely by a red card to John Egan prior to taking the lead against Sheffield United last week, but they had the better of the game and were deserving winners. Without fans cheering him on, Joelinton finally scored his first Premier League goal at St. James’ Park and his first league goal since August. Could this have broken the floodgates? We like Joelinton to get himself on the scoresheet again.

Game 6: Manchester United vs. Sheffield United

Wednesday, June 24th, 6PM

First Goalscorer Pick: Marcus Rashford

Sheffield United have yet to score in their two games back after lockdown and haven’t really looked like doing so either. Manchester United on the other hand will count themselves as unlucky they only left North London with a point after a dominant display against Tottenham. Marcus Rashford had a chance early on to score first, well saved by Hugo Lloris, and we like him to go one better and find the net on Wednesday.

Game 7: Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace

Wednesday, June 24th, 8:15PM

First Goalscorer Pick: Sadio Mane

Liverpool struggled at Everton on the weekend with a team that was without Mohamed Salah in the starting XI. With the chance to clinch the Premier League title on Wednesday, Jurgen Klopp won’t be taking any chances. Sadio Mane opened the scoring with a huge goal against Crystal Palace earlier in the season and is a strong bet to open the scoring.

Game 8: Southampton vs. Arsenal

Thursday, June 25th, 6PM

First Goalscorer Pick: Danny Ings

Arsenal have suffered back to back defeats since the season restarted a week ago and haven’t looked impressive in either game. Struggling for form, they travel to Southampton buoyed by a good win at Norwich. Ings opened the scoring at Carrow Road and opened the scoring at the Emirates earlier this season. He’s a strong candidate to do so again.

Game 9: Burnley vs. Watford

Thursday, June 25th, 6PM

First Goalscorer Pick: No Scorer

We’re going out on a limb here and predicting this games ends as a scoreless draw. It took Watford until the 93rd minute against Leicester to find a goal, a wonderful overhead kick from Craig Dawson, while Burnley were turned over by Manchester City on Monday night. Two low scoring teams doesn’t bode well for goals.

Game 10: Chelsea vs. Manchester City

Thursday, June 25th, 6PM

First Goalscorer Pick: Gabriel Jesus

The headline game of this round of fixtures, Manchester City carry strong form into this having beaten both Arsenal and Burnley already, while Chelsea will be encouraged by their come from behind win at Aston Villa. With Aguero sidelined, Jesus should be given the opportunity to lead the line and only Danny Ings has opened the scoring in games this season more often than Jesus.

Here’s a look at our first goalscorer picks. How do you feel about our Grosvenor Goals selections this week, and who are you picking to be your 10 first goalscorers? There’s a GUARANTEED £5,000 to be won on this week’s games for the player who picks the most first goalscorers in the selected games, and a £1M jackpot if you get all 10 correct, so make sure you get your entries in. It’s free to play and the deadline for entries is Tuesday, June 23rd at 5:55PM.
