This weekend one of the most iconic Formula One venues – Monaco – hosts the latest installment of the 2018 season.
Lewis Hamilton now leads the standings heading into the streets of the French principality after picking up back-to-back wins, but how will the Brit fare on Sunday around the tight confines of Monaco?
Here is what we have picked out as some of the top formula one bets ahead of the main event.
Hamilton to make it three on the spin?
It wasn’t so long ago that the Brit looked be struggling to retain his title after Sebastian Vettel built up an early lead.
However, it hasn’t taken long for Hamilton to race to the top of the pile following his win at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.
The 33-year-old would want to build up that lead even further, and despite not having the best of it in the first two practices sessions, is 9/2 with grosvenorsport.com to take the chequered flag on Sunday.
A better alternative looks to be a top-three finish which can be backed at 8/11.
Vettel eyes Monaco win
Sebastian Vettel will be hoping to make it back-to-back victories after victory last year broke Mercedes’ dominance in the race, having won the Grand Prix for the previous four seasons.
Early indications in practice shown he’s the best of the rest behind the pacey Red Bull’s, but las year showed he can pull it out of the bag when needed and he’s 3/1 to come away with the victory.
Red Bull setting the early pace
Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen have set the early pace around the street circuit, topping the charts in practices one and two.
While the likes of Mercedes and Ferrari have the straight-line speed, Red Bull are the better cars round the tighter circuits.
I would plump for a Red Bull one-two on Sunday, which is available at either 4/1 or 9/2, depending if you want Ricciardo or Verstappen to take the chequered flag respectively.
However the young Verstappen is too hit and miss for my liking and with that in mind I will go with a Ricciardo win at 2/1 to win his second race of the season and make things even more interesting at the top of the overall standings before they head to Canada in a fortnight.
