Formula One has turned its attention to Hungary this week, and the Hungaroring is the latest stage for the gripping battle between Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel ahead of the mid-season break.
With Vettel throwing away a sure-fire victory after crashing out in Germany, our F1 expert brings you the best Formula One odds for the weekend ahead.
Hamilton dominates in Hungary
Lewis Hamilton, fresh off an exhilarating and emotional weekend in Hockenheim last week, has won more times at the Hungaroring than any other driver.
With five wins already under his belt here, he will look to add another victory and cement his place as the leading driver in this year’s Championship.
I fancy Hamilton to finish first in both Qualifying and the Grand Prix itself, which can be backed at 11/2 and 5/1 respectively
Vettel keen for redemption
Sebastian Vettel will be furious after his mistake in Germany, and last year’s Hungary winner will be desperate to set things right.
Last year saw a Ferrari one-two, so it is very clear they know their way around this track, and there are enough straights that Ferrari’s super-quick hybrid engine will be able to unleash its full potential.
Vettel to put his German demons behind him and bounce back with a Grand Prix win can be backed at 7/5.
Renault Surprise
The Renault has been one of the most exciting cars to watch this year, with both Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg both having excellent drives in Qualifying and Races, with Hulkenberg driving excellently in Germany to finish fifth, after a sixth-place finish in the British Grand Prix.
If the chips fall his way and one of the big three teams have a poor weekend, it is not only likely Hulkenberg finishes very high in the points, but there is a real chance he podiums. Hulkenberg to podium can be found at 33/1.
