Football Transfers | This week’s biggest Premier League rumours

Nothing excites, inflames the imagination and sparks a debate amongst fans of the beautiful game like football rumours.

But the holy grail when it comes to these speculative conversations has to be Premier League transfers. Of course, rumours are just that – rumours – but some hold more weight than others, and amongst the plethora of mutterings and musings lives some interesting nuggets.

There’s no time when these rumours are discussed with more enthusiasm than the summer transfer window, and with just under three weeks until the 2019/20 season starts, the rumour mill has hit fever pitch.

Whenever Premier League transfer rumours are concerned, the focus is often on the figures being bandied about as much as the players associated with them. This is understandable however, as if you look at some of the world’s most expensive footballers it becomes glaringly obvious that money talks and it talks loudest in the Summer transfer window.

Here are some of the latest football transfer rumours doing the rounds at the moment.

Gareth Bale to China/ Bayern Munich

Zinedine Zidane’s curious comments earlier this week sent the Gareth Bale rumour mill into overdrive. It appears Real Madrid are ready to cut ties as soon as possible with the Welshman, who was won 14 major honours since joining the club in 2013.

The major obstacle in his exit appears to be finding a suitor prepared to pay somewhere close to his astronomical wages. With that in mind, Grosvenorsport.com have any Chinese club as Bale’s most likely destination at 13/20.

After the departures of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery over the summer, Bayern Munich’s pursuit of wide-players has been well-publicised. It could be that they choose to pursue a younger, and cheaper, option but Grosvenorsport.com has them in the mix at 6/1.

It appears the Welsh international is prepared to play a minor role at Real if the right deal cannot be made before the window closes. Bale is evens to remain at Madrid.

Wilfried Zaha to Arsenal/ Everton

Arsenal had done all the early running in the battle for Wilfried Zaha’s signature, with the player seemingly set on a move to the Emirates. Stan Kroenke seems to have other ideas though, with the Gunners reported £45 million transfer budget falling way short of Crystal Palace’s valuation.

Despite this, it is believed Arsenal have made several bids, and are hoping to come to a satisfactory agreement using potential add-ons. They are currently available to be his next club at around at 3/4 with Grosvenorsport.com.

Arsenal’s indecisiveness has left the door open for other potential suitors. Perhaps surprisingly, Everton have emerged as contenders to seal the Ivorian’s signature after reports suggested the Toffees were preparing a player plus-cash offer. If they are to be believed, former Palace man Yannick Bolasie could be used as a makeweight and Everton are currently available at 7/4 to sign Zaha this summer with Grosvenorsport.com.
