Grosvenor Sport ambassador Jamie O’Hara is on hand to break down three must-watch matchups in the Premier League this weekend, including the massive clash between Liverpool and Manchester City.
West Ham vs Arsenal – Saturday 17:30
West Ham’s recent win against Newcastle could be the spark they need—but consistency is key. Sure, it was a brilliant result, but now they’ve got to do it again, and that’s no walk in the park when Arsenal are back in form. The big question is: what’s the game plan? Do they go after Arsenal? Sit back? Press high?
This one is tough to call because West Ham can be so unpredictable. Which version of the Hammers will show up? Arsenal, on the other hand, look sharp, especially with Martin Ødegaard back in action. He’s Arsenal’s Rodri—a player you just can’t do without. When he’s on the pitch, everything clicks; when he’s not, things wobble.
No matter which West Ham side shows up, I think Arsenal will edge it—but it won’t be a blowout. It’s going to be close!
My Prediction: West Ham 1-2 Arsenal (13/2)
Chelsea vs Aston Villa – Sunday 13:30
This is a massive game! Unai Emery’s side came into this week on a bad streak, but they managed to steady the ship with a gritty 0-0 draw against Juventus in the Champions League. Now, they’ll be desperate for all three points on Sunday—but guess what? So will Chelsea, who are keen to keep their recent good form rolling.
Chelsea have been impressive, no doubt, but let’s not get carried away. They’re still a young squad, and there are moments when the cracks show. Wobbles here, wobbles there—it’s all part of the growing pains. That’s why this match just feels like a draw. Villa can’t afford to lose again in the league, plain and simple.
The Champions League grind is real, though, and it’s hitting Villa hard. Emery’s done everything he can with this squad—he’s gotten the absolute best out of them, squeezing every drop of potential. But let’s be honest: they don’t have those superstar game-changers like Jude Bellingham or Mohamed Salah. Villa’s players are solid—giving 8s and 9s most weeks—but the cracks show when they dip below that level. That’s exactly what’s caught up to them in recent matches.
My Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Aston Villa (10/1)
Liverpool vs Manchester City – Sunday 16:00
If Liverpool beat Manchester City on Sunday, the title race is effectively over. An 11-point lead at this stage would be insurmountable, even for City, and Arsenal might not close the gap either. Such a collapse would be catastrophic for Liverpool and a sackable offence for Arne Slot.
Liverpool will see this as a golden opportunity—City haven’t won in six, and this could make it seven. I predict Liverpool will win convincingly. Mohamed Salah remains one of the best right-wingers in the world, with unmatched consistency and stats, making him irreplaceable for Liverpool, much like Rodri is for City.
City’s struggles without Rodri are clear, and their aging core—Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, and others—seems less effective. Without major reinforcements or a miraculous turnaround, a loss here would confirm City’s decline this season. Lose, and they’re done game over!
My Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Manchester City (12/1)
Have a great weekend,
Jamie
