Grosvenor Sport ambassador Jamie O’Hara delivers his first match preview of the season, with his beloved Tottenham taking on newly-promoted Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Monday night.
Tottenham’s opening game against Leicester City on Monday is one I’m really looking forward to. There’s always uncertainty with opening games, but pre-season has looked decent for Spurs and I’m quietly confident of a good season.
Leicester will be desperate to make a statement, especially with the match being televised on Monday night, but I think Tottenham will have the upper hand going into the game. They’ve had a summer of change with Enzo Maresca leaving for Chelsea and there’s still some uncertainty over that potential points deduction.
Spurs win this for me. Dominic Solanke is an encouraging signing and could be crucial in this game, offering a focal point in attack. Even though he’s not Harry Kane, he’ll give the team something to aim at.
Tottenham also have quality players like Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, and under Ange Postecoglou, I believe they’re heading in the right direction.
Prediction: Tottenham to win 2-1 (13/2)
