Gameweek 34 of Grosvenor Goals is open! Simply select the first goalscorer correctly in our 10 selected games, and you’ll win £1M! Last week, we gave away a guaranteed cash prize of £5,000 to the player who selected the most first goalscorers. The punter who collected that guaranteed prize selected seven out of 10 correct, not bad going.
This week, there’s a guaranteed cash prize on offer again to whoever picks the most correct goalscorers, with that person winning £5,000, and of course, if you select any three correctly, you win a £10 free bet. Fancy your chances? Entries close at 12:25PM SATURDAY JULY 4TH.
Below are this week’s 10 selected fixtures for Grosvenor Goals, and we at Grosvenor Sport have made our predictions for the first goalscorer in each of the 10 selected fixtures.
Game 1: Norwich vs. Brighton
Saturday, July 4th, 12:30PM
First Goalscorer Pick: Leandro Trossard
Norwich are currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and don’t look to be getting themselves out of trouble anytime soon, while Brighton have impressed in their three games post-lockdown. Leandro Trossard scored and assisted in Brighton’s win over the Canaries earlier in the season which bodes well for their meeting tomorrow.
Game 2: Derby vs. Nottingham Forest
Saturday, July 4th, 12:30PM
First Goalscorer Pick: Lewis Grabban
A Championship fixture makes its way into our Grosvenor Goals games this week as two promotion-chasing sides square off at Pride Park. Derby in seventh sit just one place and one point outside of the play-off places where you can find Nottingham Forest in fourth, seven back of an automatic promotion place. Forest have scored goals for fun this season largely down to Lewis Grabban, who has 19 on the campaign in the Championship, including the winner in a 1-0 triumph against the Rams in November.
Game 3: Leicester vs. Crystal Palace
Saturday, July 4th, 3PM
First Goalscorer Pick: Harvey Barnes
Leicester haven’t hit the ground running since the league resumed a couple of weeks ago and have seen their grasp on a Champions League place significantly weakened in the process. Desperate for a win against a Palace side that came unstuck against Burnley last time out, we foresee Harvey Barnes being a difference maker.
Game 4: Manchester United vs. Bournemouth
Saturday, July 4th, 3PM
First Goalscorer Pick: Paul Pogba
There aren’t many teams in the Premier League right now playing better football than Manchester United, and there aren’t many teams in worse shape than Bournemouth. Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are playing with the rapport of a midfield tandem that have dominated the league for years as opposed to the mere 219 minutes they’ve played together for. Pogba has two assists since the restart but is yet to register his first Premier League goal of the season, and we like him to do so tomorrow.
Game 5: Wolves vs. Arsenal
Saturday, July 4th, 5:30PM
First Goalscorer Pick: Nicolas Pepe
A big game in the context of qualification for Europe next season, Arsenal can’t afford many more slip ups and Wolves sit just two points back of the top four. Notoriously slow starters, we can see a scenario where Wolves fall behind against the Gunners, who have enjoyed the form of Nicolas Pepe in recent weeks.
Game 6: Chelsea vs. Watford
Saturday, July 4th, 8PM
First Goalscorer Pick: Olivier Giroud
With Manchester United and Wolves breathing down their necks for fourth place, Chelsea are in desperate need of a win. Tammy Abraham hasn’t impressed of late and it could be Olivier Giroud’s chance to lead the line against Watford. He has one goal in two apps against Watford.
Game 7: Burnley vs. Sheffield united
Sunday, July 5th, 12PM
First Goalscorer Pick: No Scorer
Both sides picked up big wins last time out and find themselves suddenly in the race to qualify for the Europa League next season. Sean Dyche and Chris Wilder pride themselves on their teams boasting strong defensive records, and we can see a situation where two of the Premier League’s lowest scorers play out a hard-fought scoreless draw.
Game 8: Newcastle vs. West Ham
Sunday, July 5th, 2:15PM
First Goalscorer Pick: Allan Saint-Maximin
The shock result of the resumed season so far would be the Hammers’ last-gasp win over Chelsea in midweek which gave their survival big a huge boost, but you’ll struggle to find a more confident unit right now than Newcastle, spearheaded by Allan Saint-Maximin who picked up three assists in the win against Bournemouth and will be looking to get himself on the scoresheet this time around.
Game 9: Liverpool vs. Aston Villa
Sunday, July 5th, 4:30PM
First Goalscorer Pick: Mohamed Salah
In their first game as Premier League champions, Liverpool were humbled 4-0 by Manchester City, which hasn’t sat well with Jurgen Klopp. The Reds will come out firing against a struggling Aston Villa side and look to put them to the sword, reminding the league why they are the runaway champions, and it’s hard to bet against Mohamed Salah scoring first if that indeed turns out to be the case.
Game 10: Southampton vs. Manchester City
Sunday, July 5th, 7PM
First Goalscorer Pick: Raheem Sterling
Manchester City looked in ominous form as they dismantled Liverpool without the likes of Sergio Aguero, David Silva or Bernardo Silva on the pitch. Pep Guardiola’s side will look to finish the season strong and with Southampton next, we like Raheem Sterling to get on the scoresheet. Averaging a goal every other game in the league this season, Sterling has six goals in 11 career appearances against Southampton.
