After midweek European excursions, the Premier League returns on Saturday, with the sixth gameweek of the season.
Our football betting expert has taken a look through the best Premier League bets to help you win big this weekend.
Brighton v Tottenham
After three defeats in a row for the first time under Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham travel to the south coast hoping to avoid another reversal on the road.
After what appeared to be a landmark 3-0 away victory over Manchester United, Spurs’ season has wobbled massively – their players look tired after World Cup exertions, and a defeat to Brighton could rack up the pressure on Pochettino’s squad.
While they will have been hoping for a title tilt, Spurs are already playing catch-up, and a place in the top four may prove to be the ceiling of their ambitions this term.
Brighton are on a winless run of their own, but they showed great fight and character to pull back from 2-0 down twice in a row to grab points against Fulham and Southampton.
Chris Hughton’s men are currently 14th – a position they would surely snap your hand off to still be in by the end of the season.
The Seagulls are 4/1 with Grosvenorsport.com for Saturday’s clash, with the draw at 3/1.
Tottenham are still favourites though, and despite their poor form, I think they can jolt themselves back into life with victory here.
Three games doesn’t undo the work Pochettino has done over the past four years, and I think they can return to form, with Spurs priced at 3/4.
It might not be pretty though, and I suggest backing a 1-0 Tottenham win at 13/2.
West Ham v Chelsea
Manuel Pellegrini finally stopped the rot against Everton last week, picking up his first points as West Ham boss with a 3-1 win.
The Hammers were much improved at Goodison Park, but have a long way to go if they are to beat Sunday’s opponents, Chelsea.
The Blues are faultless so far, winning five from five, and sitting pretty at the top of the table.
Eden Hazard put on an exhibition against Cardiff, netting a hat-trick, and should be fancied to score again.
After a Europa League rest in midweek, I’m backing him to open the scoring at 7/2.
Chelsea have had to endure a trip to Greece and back, but most of their regulars were able to put their feet up against PAOK.
The Blues might be too short at 1/2 for me to back them, but Chelsea to win to nil at 5/2 looks a good bet.
Arsenal v Everton
Two new managers meet at the Emirates, in a game that could show the pair’s ambitions this year.
Unai Emery has won three on the spin as Arsenal boss, having lost his first two in charge of the Gunners.
After being defeated by Manchester City and Chelsea, those subsequent wins over West Ham, Cardiff, and Newcastle show Arsenal may be beaten by the best, but will fancy themselves against the rest.
Sixth place could be on the cards again this year.
Everton’s hopes to be the best of that rest might depend on nicking points against the top six, and Marco Silva will hope to get something at the Emirates.
The naturally attacking coach is unlikely to put men behind the ball, something that could play into Arsenal’s hands.
Arsenal are a short 4/9 to claim victory here, and I think the Gunners will pull through.
There could be goals though, and suggest backing over 3.5 at 6/5.
