The Rugby League Challenge Cup enters the semi-final stage and a place at Wembley is up for grabs.
Taking place in a double-header format at the University of Bolton Stadium, the home of Bolton Wanderers, fans will be treated to a stellar display of rugby and our Rugby League betting expert guides you through Sunday’s semi-finals.
Saints to conquer the Dragons
St. Helens take on a Catalans Dragons side that have managed to turn their season around in recent weeks. Starting to find their own rhythm and style of play, Catalans probably have the biggest chance of causing an upset from the two games.
To do so and come away with a win, the Dragons will have to overcome steep odds with St. Helens comfortably odds-on favourites at 1/4, whereas the Dragons sit at 3/1.
With the talismanic trio of Ben Barba, Tommy Makinson and Jonny Lomax, Saints have blown away nearly every team they have faced so far in the Super League and Challenge Cup this season and I cannot see that changing here. Unfortunately the fairytale ends in Bolton for Catalans Dragons, and I would recommend backing St. Helens to win by 13 points or more at Evens.
Wolves to devour the Rhinos
Two teams who are normally in the hunt for a Grand Final place as well as a Challenge Cup Final place come August, Leeds have suffered a horrid season and after replacing Brian McDermott with Headingley legend Kevin Sinfield the RHINOS will be looking to escape the qualifiers and rebuild for next season.
Leeds, under the leadership of Sinfield enter the game as underdogs at 2/1 and 2/5 odds-on favourites Warrington will look to apply pressure throughout with a very physical gameplan, keeping hopes of a magnificent League and Cup double alive.
Despite the return of Sinfield and some swagger injected into the Leeds ranks in recent weeks, I am tipping Warrington to win both halves at 5/6 and progress to the Wembley final on 25th August
