Tyson Fury will return to the ring for the first time in just under three years when he faces 39-year-old Albanian fighter Sefer Seferi at the Manchester Arena this weekend.
While it’s unclear what sort of physical state Tyson Fury will be in for the bout, one thing is clear – the boxing world is excited about his return.

Return of the Furious One
The last time Tyson Fury fought he inflicted a first defeat in ten years upon a legendary figure in the game – Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko.
Fury won that scrap on unanimous points and subsequently picked up the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles – only to have them stripped following a positive drugs test.
It was unclear whether Fury would return to professional boxing, but his team are adamant that following months of gruelling training the former world champion is in the best shape of his life.
If Tyson Fury performs to the levels he is capable of, the victory will only be heading one way – and it won’t be pretty for Sefer Seferi. The Mancunian will see this as a chance to build fitness but given Fury’s nature he may enjoy toying with his opponent and try to enjoy the occasion.

Sefer Seferi is no slouch – the 39-year-old challenger has only suffered one defeat in a career that has mostly seen him compete in the cruiserweight division.
His only defeat came in over 18 months ago at the hands of current WBA heavyweight champion Manuel Charr. However, he maintains he’s learnt from the defeat and is out to ruin the party for the returning Tyson.
Nicknamed ‘The Real Deal’, Seferi is strong, tall and able to soak up pressure and big hits. He feels he has the physical and mental capacity to cause an upset in this one, but he’ll need to withstand periods of sustained pressure from Fury and land meaningful punches when he can in the hope that the former champ becomes tired.
The Albanian is a long shot at 13/1 to shock the boxing world and defeat Fury on Saturday with Grosvenorsport.com.
Fury ‘2 Fast’ for Seferi
Make no mistake, Fury is taking this one seriously. He maintains that he picked Seferi because Albanians are notoriously tough – and because Seferi is a distant relative of a Macedonian King.
Regardless of Seferi’s background, this one is all about the return of Fury, and I think he’ll put on a show for his fans and his doubters this weekend.
He’s already said he hopes to be tested for this fight, and while it’s unlikely to go the distance I think we could see it go to at least six of the ten scheduled rounds and that can be backed at 7/1.
